Michele Marceau Ward is the owner of Principle Gallery, with locations in Alexandria, Virginia and Charleston, South Carolina, both galleries are dedicated to representing the highest quality in Contemporary Realism. For her galleries, Michele seeks original paintings and bronze sculpture. She prides herself in representing emerging, mid-career, and established artists with a distinct personal approach to their work. The key to maintaining a gallery for 25 years is knowing how to keep business innovative, and Michele has done a fantastic job doing so. She is always searching for new ways to gain exposure for artists through solo exhibitions, social media, selective group shows, and national art fairs.

Graduating from Western Michigan University with a BA in Business Administration, Michele was able to step into her passion of helping artists straight out of college as a sales consultant at Gravely Galleries in Georgetown. After three years as Director, she established Principle Gallery in its original location on Cameron Street in Old Town Alexandria in 1994 and established Principle Gallery Charleston in 2012.

One of Michele’s most prominent ambitions is to help gain recognition for Contemporary artists painting in the realist tradition earn their well-deserved place in the art world.

When Michele isn’t in the gallery, she enjoys playing tennis and taking part in agility cross-training.
