“John was born in 1966 in Elmira NY. He attended Binghamton University where he received his BA in Liberal Arts. After graduating from college he moved to Santa Fe, NM where he met Dirk Meyer, who introduced him to the vibrant Santa Fe art scene. Dirk recognized John’s appreciation of the arts, and when the position of Associate Gallery Director became available he offered John the position.
In 2008 John became Gallery Director, where he went on to curate, staff, manage and grow the gallery’s roster to eventually represent over 50 artists. In 2019 after the passing of Dirk Meyer, John became the new owner of the gallery. His goal is to continue the gallery’s legacy by maintaining it’s standing as a leading force in the Santa Fe art market for contemporary representational art.” As current owner and Gallery Director for nearly 15 years, John Manzari is committed to honoring the legacy of the Meyer family and particularly his late business partner Dirk, who passed away in 2019. Originally from New York, Manzari attended the State University of New York at Binghamton before relocating to Santa Fe, where he worked in high-end retail before joining Meyer Gallery in 1994 as Associate Director. He assumed the role of Gallery Director in 2007, shaping the gallery’s current aesthetic with a keen curatorial eye. Along with his Associate Director Jordan West, Manzari leads the curation of the gallery’s annual exhibition series and is constantly seeking new artists to compliment the current roster of local, national, and international talent.
