Larry Moore has been a professional visual communicator for the past 45 years, working from his roots as a mural and apparel artist in the surf industry into graphic design, advertising, illustration, and fine art, achieving national recognition in each of these areas. He has been a college and workshop instructor since 1990 and has published a successful book on creativity for artists titled Fishing For Elephants: Insights and Exercises to Inspire Authentic Creativity.
Larry has won numerous Best of Show awards and Artists’ and Collectors’ Choice honors while participating in plein air events around the country, including: Gold Medal, Society of Illustrators, New York, 2004; Society of Illustrators, New York annual exhibit, 1995, 1997-2005; Communication Arts Illustration and Design Annual, 1999-2008; and Luerzers Archive Top 200 Illustrators Worldwide, 2005. Museum shows include the Huntsville Museum of Art, Alabama; the Society of Illustrators Museum, New York; Orlando Museum of Art, Florida; Laguna Museum of Art, California; the Booth Western Art Museum, Cartersville, Georgia; and the Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, Wyoming.
Moore has also written articles for American Art Collector, Create Magazine, Pastel Journal, American Artist Workshop Magazine, PleinAir Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, and International Artist Magazine.
